Beastie Boys Discuss New Album

New LP from hip hop brats

Hip hop legends The Beastie Boys have been discussing their forthcoming album, which they claim will be named after a pair of glasses once worn by Elvis.

Beginning as a hardcore group in New York, The Beastie Boys have come a long way. Their ground breaking opus 'Paul's Boutique' is set to be re-issue, allowing music lovers to bask in its glory all over again.

The group have tread their own path over the years, taking time off to tour as an unknown hardcore punk act while also renouncing their party animal ways in favour of Buddhism.

The Beastie Boys did confirm, however, that their new album will contain plenty of "fart jokes".

In an interview with the BBC the group claimed "there are a lot of songs on the record and there are a lot of short songs and they kind of all run into each other".

"It's a combination of playing and sampling stuff as we're playing, and also sampling pretty obscure records."

The album's working titled 'Tadlock's Glasses' which Ad Rock explains is inspired by a former driver.

"We had a bus driver years ago who used to drive Elvis' back up singers. His name was Tadlock and Elvis gave him a pair of glasses, which he was very proud of. So for some reason that title -- Tadlock's Glasses -- has just been bouncing around."

Beastie Boys' new album should be released some time later this year.
