Beady Eye guitarist Gem Archer has been hospitalised with severe head trauma.
Earlier this week, Beady Eye cancelled a number of live shows after revealing that guitarist Gem Archer was unwell. At the time, the band said: "Due to guitarist Gem Archer's injury, the band regret to inform fans that they will be cancelling their upcoming shows in Belgium and Japan until further notice. They are very sorry for any disappointment this will cause but as Gem is an integral part of the band there is no way that they can play without him. An update on Gem's condition will follow."
Now the band have supplied additional information. Following an accident on August 1st the guitarist was taken to hospital, where he is currently recovering from what is reported to be severe head trauma. The statement continues:
"His family, friends and bandmates thank everyone who have sent messages of support and well wishes so far and hope to see him back on his feet soon. An update on his condition will follow." (via NME)
Beady Eye have confirmed that Gem Archer is in a stable condition in hospital, but is being kept under observation.
