Bat For Lashes Album Announced
UK tour in pipeline
Brighton based songwriter Bat For Lashes has revealed details of her new album, the follow up to her 2006 debut 'Fur And Gold', it has been announced.
Born plain Natasha Khan, Bat For Lashes is one of Britain's more unusual songwriting talents. With a degree in multimedia art, Khan takes a perfectionist view of her live performance, wearing outrageous costumes and using innovative visuals.
Debut album 'Fur And Gold' was acclaimed by critics and was even nominated for the 2007 Mercury Music Prize, losing out to Klaxons 'Myths Of The Near Future'. Bizarrely, Bat For Lashes even made it onto the shortlist of the Brit Awards being nominated for 'Best British Female' at the 2007 awards.
The album is a continuing success, with a fantasy film musical reportedly in the works based on the tracks from 'Fur And Gold'. Three years in the making, dazzling follow up 'Two Suns' is more than enough to meet the demands of her avid fans.
Partially written in the Californian desert, 'Two Suns' is wonderfully eclectic. Joined on some tracks by Brooklyn psychedelic star Yeasayer, the album is a step on from 'Fur And Gold' but retains Bat For Lashes unique charm.
Bat For Lashes releases her new album on 'Two Suns' on April 6th.
