Basement Jaxx For Ibiza

Dance heads to play massive event

Returning dance giants Basement Jaxx are set to perform at the finale of this summer's massive International Music Summit in Ibiza.

Basement Jaxx started as a clubnight in Brixton helmed by Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe. Graduating to producing remixes and their own songs Basement Jaxx released their first album 'Remedy' in 1999 to near instant commercial success.

A hugely popular live act, the group have been on hiatus for some time but are set to play a host of dates this summer. Basement Jaxx have been hand-picked to play Rock Ness in Scotland, where a hearty welcome surely awaits them.

Before then, however, the group are set to perform at the International Music Summit. One of the dance world's top showcase events no expense is spared with Basement Jaxx set to play a set inside a castle.

Yes, a real, live made out of ancient stone, castle. Also due to play the event is an all star line up that contains some of the biggest names in the dance world. Pete Tong is set to DJ, and the rhyming slang legend will be joined by techno boffin Richie Hawtin.

In a statement to fans Basement Jaxx said of the event: "We're delighted to have been asked to close the Grand Finale of the International Music Summit 2009 inside the castle at the top of the old town of Ibiza."

“To play such a spectacular and intimate venue on the island where we've had so many good times was a temptation we couldn't turn down. What a brilliant way to kick off summer 2009!"

International Music Summit takes place between May 27th - 29th.
