Basement Jaxx Deny Being Dropped

New album to come out on XL

Returning dance giants Basement Jaxx have been rocked by rumours that they have been dropped by their label XL.

Basement Jaxx formed around the friendship of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, who starting DJing together in the early 90s. Through their clubnight 'Rooty' the duo exposed London audiences to their unique brand of house music.

Moving into production the group scored almost immediate success. Debut album 'Remedy' contained blockbuster singles such as 'Red Alert' while follow up effort 'Rooty' was a massive chart success.

The group took a break after their album 'Crazy Itch Radio' but Basement Jaxx returned earlier this summer with a series of festival dates. A headline slot at RockNess in the Scottish Highlands saw the duo storm the event, playing a series of classic hits.

With their new album 'Scars' due for release soon, it seems that Basement Jaxx can do wrong. However the duo were rocked by internet rumours over the weekend that they were set to be dropped by their label XL.

In an unprecedented move for the label, XL Recordings have issued a statement denying that Basement Jaxx are set to part company.

"Contrary to a small number of internet stories that have surfaced over the weekend, XL Recordings would like to clarify that Basement Jaxx have not been dropped by the label. XL Recordings will be releasing the band's new album 'Scars' on 21st September along with their new single 'Feelings Gone' featuring Sam Sparro."

"The band, fresh from headline appearances at this year's Creamfields, Big Chill and Wireless festivals, will be heading out on a massive UK tour in December which will include a show at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday 17th December."

Basement Jaxx will release their new album 'Scars' on September 21st.
