Babyshambles Play Gig In Flat

Whitechapel Gig For Fans

Pete Doherty played a bizarre show last night (October 27th) in a small flat in the London area of Whitechapel, it has been reported.

The Babyshambles singer was joined by bandmates Adam Ficek and Mick Whitnall in the tiny gig. The show was advertised on fan forums, with punters paying £20 a head to gain entry through a cage door at the front of the flat. The former Libertines man played at one end of the sparse room, with a makeshift bar at the other.

Secret gigs like this were all the rage in 2001, before becoming naff and passe. With Doherty known as a trend setter, perhaps they've become retro again.

Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek has recently released his first solo album under the name of Roses, Kings, Castles and also performed a solo set.

Doherty's performance culminated in a quick run through the rock 'n' roll classic 'Twist And Shout' before running through the crowd to the backstage area. Whitnall and Ficek then played a raucous version of the Babyshambles song 'I Wish'.
