Also: she's a vocalist not a rapper

In a hectic few days Azealia Banks has split with her management, quit Twitter and re-aligned herself as a vocalist.

First things first... Azealia Banks recently signed a management deal with Troy Carter, who also represents Lady Gaga. The contract was inked a mere seven weeks ago, but since then relations have soured.

Parting company, Troy Carter told the Hollywood Reporter (via FACT) that the “incredibly talented” Banks had split on “amiable terms”.

Using her Twitter feed, Azealia Banks displayed a different side to the story. “I know who you are yes…You short bald man…I know you planted these false stories. Guess what?: I’m still not going to let you manage me again. I’ve dealt with enough cyber bullying to see right thru this. I will definitely be working BY MYSELF and saving MY 20% On management commissions while I avoid you sharks in the water….”.

The artist then closed her Twitter feed, pointing fans instead to a newly opened Tumblr blog. Seemingly preferring this to the limitations of Twitter, Azealia Banks used her blog to re-align herself as a vocalist, as opposed to a rapper.

In the posting marked ’No Longer Wishing To Be A Rapper’ Banks wrote:

”i never was…. and as soon as i started paying attention to bullshit urban media, i started getting myself in trouble. From now on i’m a vocalist, and will not be associating myself with the “rap game”… or whatever the fuck that means…no more twitter for me… it makes me entirely too accessible. Catch me on tumblr… it’ll be more interesting.”
