Axl Rose On Dr Pepper Dispute
Guns N Roses Singer Speakers Out
Axl Rose, the frontman with returning rockers Guns N Roses, has spoken out on the legal dispute brewing between his band and American drinks firm Dr Pepper.
Dr Pepper promised to give every citizen of the United States a free can if Guns N Roses released their new album in 2008. Almost immediately the band set wheels in motion to release 'Chinese Democracy' resulting in a legal promise from the firm.
The band's lawyer Alan Gutman has written to Dr Pepper insisting that they apologise for using the band to promote their drink. The free can offer ended in a farce as the Dr Pepper website crashed due to the volume of traffic.
In a chat with fans, Rose insisted he had nothing to do with the legal spat. "Sure, but the actions taken so far had nothing to do with me and I was taken off guard as I had specifically told our team, 'Who fucking cares?!" he revealed.
He added: "Right now we have a record to deal with. My feelings are after their public response. It was cute. Maybe the guy who got it rolling originally meant well, but it turned out sour and maybe it's just me, but he seems like maybe he wants a bit too much attention so..."
