Astoria Cancels Last Ever Party

Manumission won't host event

As previously reported on Clash Music, London's iconic venue The Astoria will close its doors without the final send-off which was planned to be hosted by Manumission due to planning issues.

The event, set to take place on January 15th, was set to feature several big-name acts who wanted to say farewell to the venue, but Transport For London, who are demolishing the venue to make way for the Crossrail, reportedly served 28 days notice to vacate the property just before the holidays, leaving organisers short of time to arrange the party.

Although Manumission will return to the City for a show later in the year as part of their world tour, the Charing Cross venue will sadly close without the send off it rightly deserves, having seen everyone from Nirvana to the White Stripes grace its stages.
