Arctic Monkeys have always used the world around them as an inspiration point, looking everyday life directly in the eye.
Yet this has never fallen into mere reportage - the world is distorted, filtered through Alex Turner's viewpoint. It's a curious push/pull between creativity and truth, reality and the surreal.
Taken from their upcoming album, 'Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?' mixes some of the band's most straight forward, desert rock sounds yet to lyrics which deal with late night booty calls.
Shot by Nabil, the video features Alex Turner wandering through the city, clearly suffering from the effects of one drug of another. The world around him fuses with his own imagination, lending the clip a hallucinatory feel, one which borders on severe paranoia.
Watch it now.
