Band announce European dates

Sheffield indie giants Arctic Monkeys are set to play a number of festivals in Europe this summer, boosting hopes they will play a British event.

Arctic Monkeys have been busy of late, putting the finishing touches to their third album with Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme at the controls. The band debuted new material in a recent tour of Australia and New Zealand, and got some great feedback from fans.

In a statement the band announced that they are to play the Beatday Festival in Copenhagan between August 14th and 15th. Hot on the heels of that event Arctic Monkeys will travel to Highfield Festival in Erfurt, Germany on August 21st.

The group will finish the festival season with a journey to the Dutch Lowland Festival on August 23rd. As previously announced, Arctic Monkeys will headline the Norwegian Oye event.

There has been no statement made on UK dates. Arctic Monkeys plan to release their new album later this year.
