Arcade Fire To Score Spike Jonze Film

Plus: the director needs your help

Arcade Fire are set to provide the score for Spike Jonze’ new film.

Arcade Fire like to keep busy. The Canadian band recently finished off sessions in the studio, with collaborator James Murphy informing NME that the results sound “seriously epic”.

With their new album slated for an October release, the band could be forgiven for relaxing a little. However the trailer for Spike Jonze’ forthcoming film ‘Her’ hints at a possible soundtrack project.

As the Playlist (via Pitchfork) notes, the trailer contains the phrase ‘Music by Arcade Fire’ in the credits – however it’s not known if this is new material, or in fact elements of their catalogue picked by both band and director.

Watch the trailer below.

Meanwhile, Spike Jonze has launched a new fan-led initiative. Asking the YouTube community to name their favourite tracks and artists of 2013, the director plans to piece the clips together into a final document. The closing date for entries is Monday (August 12th) so enter here before then.
