Arcade Fire Obama Gig
Group to serenade staffers
Orchestral indie types Arcade Fire have joined rapper Jay-Z in playing a very special closed-doors gig to thank staff who worked on US president Barack Obama's campaign.
As you may have noticed, newly elected US president Barack Obama was inaugurated recently. Firmly backed by the entertainment industry, his inauguration has been followed by a blitz of superb musical events with Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen and many more getting in on the act.
A special gig has been organised by Obama's party to thank his hardworking campaign staff. On the bill is American rap hero Jay-Z, whilst bizarrely Canadian group Arcade Fire are also set to appear. But, given America's domination of world politics, this is perhaps a sign of the times.
Arcade Fire have been vocal supporters of the Democrat politician, and will play the private party in the Armory, Washington DC according to reports in New York Times.
