Arcade Fire For Oxegen

Irish festival expands

Canadian group Arcade Fire are set to play a headline slot at this year’s Oxegen festival.

Held in the lush Irish countryside, Oxegen has emerged as one of Europe’s premiere music events. Fans are by now used to stunning headliners, however this year’s bill contains some jaw-dropping names.

Amongst the latest additions to the Oxegen bill are Canadian group Arcade Fire. One of the most celebrated groups of the past decade, the band’s studio albums have inspired more than a few copycats.

However the original remains the greatest. Currently working on new material, Arcade Fire are set to break ground with a very special performance. Taking to the stage at Oxegen the Canadian group will make their first visit to European soil in some time.

Other new additions include dance don Fatboy Slim, who is also set to triumph at this year’s Snowbombing event. Taking place between July 8th – 11th, the Irish event already boasted a star studded line up.

Rap star Eminem is due to appear at Oxegen, following on from the success of his recent album ‘Relapse’. Joining the Detroit star on the bill will be Kasabian, Jay-Z, Broken Social Scene and Faithless.

Expanding all the time, Oxegen’s line up also includes the likes of London electro pop stars Hot Chip, stadium proggers Muse and Welsh rock wizards Stereophonics.

Oxegen takes place between July 8th – 11th.
