Animal Collective To Curate ATP

May event confirmed

Animal Collective are set to curate a very special All Tomorrow’s Parties event in May.

One of the foremost indie rock acts of their generation, Animal Collective are currently entering a period of downtime. Solo projects from Avey Tare and Panda Bear line on the release schedule, with little in the way of group activity.

Not to say that it’s been a dull year – visual album ‘ODDSAC’ fried minds at selected screenings across the country. Now the band have confirmed that they are to re-convene in order to curate All Tomorrow’s Parties.

Animal Collective will seize control of the Minehead event next May, inviting along acts they feel fit the bill. Already, forty acts have been announced for the upcoming instalment of All Tomorrow’s Parties.

Brooklyn indie types Gang Gang Dance are due to perform, while reggae icon Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry is also set to appear.

The line up reflects the band’s tastes, with Black Dice, Broadcast, Omar-S and more set to appear. Elsewhere, Dent May is due to perform while reclusive dubstep producer Zomby has also been coaxed out of hiding.

ATP promoter Barry Hogan said: “I always wondered what kind of mixtape Animal Collective would put together, so we are really stoked that they are climbing into the curating hot seat at Butlins next May where they will headline and curate the festival that includes the likes of Lee Scratch Perry and Gang Gang Dance from an already eclectic mix of 40+ acts.”

It’s been a big year for ATP, with Pavement and Belle & Sebastian both curating one off events. The full line up for Animal Collective’s instalment will be confirmed closer to the event.

Tickets for the Minehead event go on sale from 9am this Friday (October 29th).

Animal Collective’s ATP event takes place between May 13th – 15th.
