Animal Collective For Spike Jonze Short

Soundtrack details released

American indie rock giants Animal Collective are amongst the acts on the soundtrack to a new Spike Jonze film.

Spike Jonze is one of the most indie-literate film makers around. The director cut his teeth shooting some iconic music videos, before going on to make some acclaimed feature length releases.

Already this year, Spike Jonze has released a revealing film starring Kanye West. Feature length production 'Where The Wild Things Are' was released to widespread acclaim earlier this year.

Boasting a stunning soundtrack, Spike Jonze has repeated the trick for his new film. A short robot love story, 'I'm Here' is already receiving critical plaudits and can be streamed - for free - online.

A new soundtrack album has been compiled to accompany the film, which features some stunning material. Animal Collective have donated 'Did You See The Words', with the Maryland band fresh from their own film venture.

Meanwhile, Girls appear with 'Hellhole Ratrace' while Sam Spiegel has written two tracks for the soundtrack. Elsewhere, new supergroup The Lost Trees make an appearance with 'The Past Is A Grotesque Animal'.

Starring Flea, Yeah Yeah Yeahs' guitarist Nick Zinner and more the group have recorded a new track especially for the soundtrack. Licensed to Chocolate Industries the physical version of the soundtrack album is set to be released on October 5th.
