Animal Collective have teamed up with director Danny Perez to work on new short film 'Transverse Temporal Gyrus'.

Animal Collective are like a cool, calm lake. It may be calm on the surface, but underneath all manner of life is stirring...

Avey Tare and Panda Bear are completing solo duties, while Deakin and Geologist have been playing a number of DJ sets. However the four piece got together last year to work with Danny Perez on an installation for the Guggenheim.

Filmed by Bobby Boothe and edited by Danny Perez, the resulting short film is titled 'Transverse Temporal Gyrus'. Playing right now on the Animal Collective Facebook page, the band have the following message:

"Here is a short video of "Transverse Temporal Gyrus", our collaboration with Danny Perez at the Guggenheim last year. Filmed by Bobby Boothe, Edited by Danny Perez, and featuring some unreleased AC music made specifically for the event that was played through a 36 channel speaker system set up around the ramp."

Of course, this isn't the first time that Animal Collective have been involved in film making. The band's own 'ODDSAC' project earned critical praise, while Geologist recently scored a short film about a Portuguese man-o-war’s tentacles.
