Andrew W.K. Named Cultural Ambassador To Bahrain

"I can hardly wait for this adventure!"

Andrew W.K. has been named Cultural Ambassador to Bahrain by the United States.

Andrew W.K. is many things: an ever buoyant rock star, a classically trained pianist and now a Cultural Ambassador for the United States. The singer has been given a new role, with the US Department of State inviting him out to the Middle East.

Working in partnership with the US Embassy in Manama, Andrew W.K. has been appointed as a Cultural Ambassador. The role is seemingly inspired by the American Jazz Ambassador of the mid 50s who would tour the world promoting the culture of the United States.

As a result, Andrew W.K. is set to tour Bahrain next month, with the singer's website reporting that he plans to "visit elementary schools, the University of Bahrain, music venues, and more, all while promoting partying and world peace."

A statement from the singer: "This is a tremendous invitation. I'm very thankful to the Department of State for giving me the opportunity to visit a place I've never been before. And I feel very privileged and humbled by the chance to represent the United States of America and show the good people of Bahrain the power of positive partying. I can hardly wait for this adventure!"
