Amy Winhouse For Strictly Come Dancing
Singer to make appearance
Record breaking singer Amy Winehouse is set to make a rare public appearance on this Saturday's episode of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
Amy Winehouse rocketed to fame with her album 'Back To Black' but almost immediately found that the consequences of chart fame were too much for her too cope with.
The pressures of touring coupled with her collapsing marriage added to the singer's woes, with Amy Winehouse finding solace in drugs. Public appearances soon became farcical, with the singer being booed offstage during her last British tour.
Retreating to Saint Lucia the singer soothed herself in the Caribbean sun. Amy Winehouse found inspiration on the island, reportedly writing a raft of new material and even some poetry.
However the singer's comeback at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival was to end in dis-array with Amy Winehouse walking offstage after weather interfered with the sound.
Now the singer is to return to Britain for an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing. Taking place this Saturday (October 10th) Amy Winehouse is due to perform alongside her 13 year old god-daughter Dionne Bromfield.
The young performer is the first signing to Amy Winehouse' new label Lioness Records. Releasing her debut album through the imprint, Dionne Bromfield will make her debut alongside her superstar mentor.
"Amy and I both love 'Strictly...' so it was brilliant to find out I'll be on TV for the first time singing on one of my favourite shows," Bromfield told BBC News.
Dionne Bromfield is set to release her new album 'Introducing Dionne Bromfield' on October 12th.
