Singer helps stranded swimmer

Best-selling British singer Amy Winehouse has indulged in a bit of heroics whilst on holiday in the Caribbean, helping a tourist who was thrown from her boat.

Winehouse has journeyed to the Caribbean to get away from the hype that follows her in Britain. The area has enjoyed a massive tourism boost as a result, as the British paparazzi journeys en masse to the area, cameras packed and ready.

According to reports in British red top The Sun, Winehouse came to the aid of a woman thrown from her boat by a large wave. After scrambling to some rocks, Louise Williams was aided by the singer, who helped her from the shoreline and took her to a shower.

“I was bowled over by her kindness. She went out of her way to help me,” Williams told the tabloid.

“A six-foot wave caught the boat and I went flying and hit a rock. Amy was on the beach 20 metres away and she ran across immediately and said, ‘Let’s have a look at you.’"

“She picked me up and took me across to the showers and was constantly asking, ‘Are you all right?’”

According to the latest indications from her record company, Amy Winehouse could release a new album late in 2009.
