Amy Winehouse To Record In Jamaica

Rumours claim

Rumours are circulating Amy Winehouse with the singer apparently keen to record her new album in Jamaica.

The troubled singer has been the focus of almost constant media attention since the release of her album 'Back To Black' in 2007. A record breaking Grammy haul and more Gold discs than you can shake a stick at followed, along with drug and marriage problems.

Now the singer is preparing to put her past behind her and begin work on her third album. According to reports, Amy Winehouse is enjoying her much publicised holiday in the Caribbean so much she wants to record there.

“Amy is having the time of her life in St Lucia and doesn’t want it to end,” a source told The Sun newspaper.

“She is looking and feeling so much better and is worried about the bad influences waiting for her back in London."

“She has written a big chunk of her new album and has told bosses she wants to go to Jamaica to record it.”

A statement from Mark Ronson confirmed that Winehouse has "got time pencilled in at a studio abroad soon.”

Will it result in a new Ragga / Swing crossover? Will Winehouse resurrect the ghosts of Compass Point and hook up with Sly and Robbie? Or will it sound like her much criticised ska-influenced live material?

It would be great if this new album gets made this year, it might give her back some perspective and keep her busy and away from any drugs. But let’s just hope Jamaica has a drug rehab facility on standby anyway.

It seems she might be on the road to recovery, if she has realized a crazy place like London is bad for her then that’s a great start. Now she just needs some drug treatment and to make a great comeback album!
