Amy Winehouse Launches Own Label
Singer signs up new talent
Award winning singer Amy Winehouse is set to launch her own record company, it has been announced, with the artist looking to nurture new talent.
The 'Back To Black' singer is now world famous, having scooped a record five awards at last year's Grammies. Almost as recognisable in the States as in Britain, Winehouse is the toast of the industry with her retro-soul sound being widely imitated.
The singer is reported to be spending approximately £1 million to get the label started. Named Lioness, the first artist to put pen to paper is the singer's 13 year old god-daughter Dionne Bromfield.
Winehouse herself will appear on Bromfield's forthcoming debut album, with Lady Gaga, Lemar and Eoghan Quigg also set to record duets.
Bromfield told the News Of The World: "I had a lot of record companies wanting to sign me but I didn't know where to go. So for Amy to set up this record company and make me her first signing means so much."
