Following on the heels of their Prince tribute, the good folks at Rapster have seen fit to release another all-star tribute album - this time to glam legend David Bowie.
Some of the best names in new electronic music have gathered together to pay tribute to The Thin White Duke, including Matthew Dear, Carl Craig, Kelley Polar and Au Revoir Simone. The eclectic collection avoids covering the usual Bowie staples (hello "Heroes") in favour of some of his lesser known hits.
Titled "Life Beyond Mars" the album contains cover versions of some lesser known Bowie material, including re-vamps versions of material taken from cult film "Labyrinth" - in which Bowie appeared as Jareth The Goblin King.
Amongst the highlights of the album are Matthew Dear's version of "Sound & Vision" and Au Revoir Simone's ethereal rendition of "Oh! You Pretty Things".
"Life Beyond Mars" is available on iTunes now, and is released as a physical format on July 14th.
