Alex Turner Covers Beatles

Last Shadow Puppets Stun Crowd

Last Shadow Puppets stunned the BBC Electric Proms crowd on Friday (October 25th) with a fantastic set that included a cover of The Beatles.

The band played a spectacular set at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall. This is the first year that the BBC Electric Proms event has been extended to Liverpool, and the cover by local legends The Beatles caused the crowd to erupt.

Backed by a 16 piece BBC Concert Orchestra, the band opened with 'In My Room' before playing tracks from their Mercury nominated debut album 'The Age Of The Understatement'. Miles Kane was by far the chattier member of the group, while Alex Turner chose to remain in the background.

The band played a version of the Beatles 1969 song 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)', before playing a number of other covers. Last Shadow Puppets were joined by James Ford on drums - Ford produced the debut album, and normally plays with Simian Mobile Disco.

Last Shadow Puppets played:

'In My Room'
'The Age of the Understatement'
'Calm Like You'
'Black Plant'
'Gas Dance'
'Only The Truth'
'Separate And Ever Deadly'
'Hang The Cyst'
'I Want You (She's So Heavy)'
'My Mistakes Were Made For You'
'Paris Summer'
'In The Heat of The Morning'
'I Don't Like You Anymore'
'The Chamber'
'The Time Has Come Again'
'Meeting Place'
'Memories'
'Standing Next To Me'
