Aerosmith To Replace Steven Tyler?

Hard rock legends Aerosmith could be set to sensationally replace lead singer Steven Tyler.

The lead singer has perhaps the most difficult job in rock music. Whilst other members of the band can sit back and play music, the singer has to sell the group's ideals and keep the audience gripped.

With Steven Tyler proving to be extremely unreliable, Aerosmith have admitted that they are considering replacing their iconic singer. With his Jagger-esque strut, massive lips and soaring voice the frontman is one of the most familiar sights in rock music, guiding Aerosmith through plenty of ups and downs.

However in recent months Steven Tyler's demons have returned to haunt him. Rumours of drug abuse persist, with the singer falling offstage during a recent show in Dakota.

As a result the band were forced to postpone a tour of South America, with lead guitarist Joe Perry telling journalists that Steven Tyler has "got to get his act together".

Now in a new interview with Classic Rock, Aerosmith rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford has revealed that the band are set to discuss their future over the new few weeks.

"I'm not sure how good that would look, it would largely depend on who we could get and who would want to do it. That's big shoes to fill," he said. "Nobody could replace Steven or imitate him – he's one of a kind. But if somebody was willing to do it and the chemistry was right, why not?"

Whitford added that on their most recent tour Steven Tyler had been given a separate dressing room from the rest of the band.

Steven Tyler has yet to comment on the rumours.
