AC/DC Photos Unearthed

Exhibition of Aussie rockers launched

Australian hard rock legends AC/DC are to be the subject of a new exhibition after a number of photographs of the band in their formative years were discovered.

AC/DC were formed around the Scots immigrant trio of Bon Scott, Angus Young and his brother Malcolm. Together that songwriting trio emerged from Australia with a clutch of hard rockin' anthems that would help pioneer heavy metal and transform the group into one of the most successful in the world.

The new photographs show the band at their first gig, and then their first recording session. Although not their original singer - he auditioned to be a roadie - Bon Scott went on to become perhaps the definitive hard rock frontman before his untimely death in 1980.

The band initially recorded with George Young - Angus and Malcolm's older brother.

AC/DC returned last year with their new album 'Black Ice', which was a massive global success. A return to their roots, it was greeted with acclaim by their enormous army of fans.

The new exhibition will be titled 'AC/DC: Let There Be Rock' and will run in the Proud Galleries, London from February 5th - May 31st.
