AC/DC Honoured By Parliament

Scots Politicians Salute Group

AC/DC could be set for a tribute by their country of birth, with the Scottish parliament discussing a motion to salute the achievements of the legendary Australian rock group.

With 'Black Ice' still setting the charts on fire across the globe, AC/DC are set to be honoured by Parliament. Both Angus and Malcolm Young were born in Glasgow, while the group's sadly late frontman Bon Scott was born in Kirriemuir.

The new parliamentary motion is titled 'AC/DC, We Salute You' and is promoted in recognition of the group's success, their love of the country, and their influence on countless Scottish groups.

Scottish politician Christine Grahame said "It is clear (Bon) Scott had a strong sense of his identity, from the 'Scotland forever' tattoo he had on his arm to his playing the bagpipes on the AC/DC track 'It's a Long Way To the Top'."

"I think they have long deserved official recognition from their homeland for that major musical contribution and my parliamentary motion will go some way towards recognising that."
