Notorious haters of download culture AC / DC will be shocked to learn that their long awaited new album 'Black Ice' has leaked online and has been downloaded over 400,000 times.
After making fans wait for almost eight years, the release of the new AC / DC album is almost upon us. Now back in the same line up that conquered the world with the legendary 'Back In Black' album, forthcoming album 'Black Ice' is one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of the year.
A copy of the album has found its way onto the internet, and has been downloaded an astonishing 400,000 times. The band's label attempted to divert attention by releasing fake versions of the album onto the net, but this has apparently backfired with fans saying they have had no problems identifying the correct version.
AC / DC do not release their songs on iTunes, which makes this latest development all the more ironic for the Australian legends of hard rock. The band were apparently motivated by a belief that their material should sit together, and not be downloaded as single tracks.
"We don't make singles, we make albums," guitarist Angus Young told the Telegraph. "We believe the songs on any of our albums belong together."
