2:54 have posted a cover version of Seal and Adamski’s early 90s classic ‘Killer’.
90s nostalgia is all the rage. If you walk down Dalston way on a Saturday afternoon you’re bound to spot a few fashion conscious kids who look as if they’ve escaped from the set of ‘Blossom’ circa 1992.
2:54 are clearly aware of this aesthetic, and recently indulged in a little nostalgia of their own. The band have recorded a new cover version, tackling Seal and Adamski’s early 90s classic ‘Killer’.
Colette Thurlow commented recently: “There’s a nostalgia to ‘Killer’ that each member of the band identifies with. We grew up listening to Seal. ‘Kiss from a Rose’ and ‘Crazy’ are such big songs. We thought it would be interesting to re-work a pop song and put a 2:54 spin on it. The lyrics are really moving too; melancholic and tough. To me it feels like a song about hope and solidarity.”
