American legend with "Heart of Gold"

Legendary figure in American music. His "Harvest" album defined the early 70s singer-songwriter style, but a career drawing from the left-field then followed. Collaborations with Devo and Pearl Jam have kept him in touch with the latest trends, but always retains that distinctive "Neil Young Sound". David Geffen would disagree with this point however, as he actually sued Neil Young in the early 80s for being deliberately uncommercial!
