Spring has sprung (er, almost) and the season brings with it a brand new edition of the award-winning Clash Magazine. Once more featuring four separate cover stars, we’re thrilled to reveal today that the very first one of those is the quite wonderful Karen Elson.

Although perhaps best known for her prolific modelling career (or, as she affectionately refers to it, “the day job”), it’s the release of her second album, ‘Double Roses’, that finds Clash coming face to face with the gothic folk singer-songwriter. Seven years on from her haunting debut, ‘The Ghost Who Walks’, she reveals in our exclusive interview the personal obstacles and introspective developments that delayed its follow-up.

Shot in New York by Chad Moore with fashion by Priscilla Kwateng, and interviewed by Zoe Whitfield, we find the Nashville-via-Manchester redhead in fittingly fiery form, as she weighs in on feminism and sets her sights on Trump.

Also in the new issue are features with Ryan Adams, Sundara Karma, Big Sean, Raye, Julia Michaels, Ray Davies, Tinie Tempah, and James Blunt.

Clash Issue 103 is available to buy online now ahead of its release next week – get the magazine here.

The second cover will be revealed later today, but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow for the final two.
