Commercial highlight "Transformer" was sponsored by Bowie, before Reed then unleashed the bummed out classic "Berlin". Mid 70s feedback marathon "Metal Machine Music" nearly killed his career, but a return to form brought about a renaissance in his fortune's. Still making valuable music, Reed remains one of the most influential (and grumpy) men in music.
