Swedish one-man band Loney, Dear (Emil Svanangen) is currently in the midst of a bidding war between four major record labels thanks to his new LP ‘Sologne’. With his lush, layered instrumentation and arresting voice it’s no surprise that the Loney, Dear project is attracting industry attention. In the UK to support his compatriots Peter, Bjorn and John and for a few showcase headline shows recently, Clash caught up with Emil in Camden. “I’ve been making music since I was a kid when I was into U2, Depeche Mode and A-Ha, those were my first influences,” he explained. “I have two different styles, I want to do Avant-Garde and speak to the masses,” he told me, with this album and two others already finished he should do just that...
