Isle Of Wight Festival Set To Toast Punk

Iggy Pop, Adam Ant, The Damned, Buzzcocks, The Godfathers and The Sex Pissed Dolls to play...

The Isle Of Wight Festival is set to toast punk with a special line up next year.

If punk's amorphous, multi-faceted origins could be condensed to one moment, it would probably lie in the summer of 1976.

London sweltered, New York sank deeper into bankruptcy and the kids were definitely not alright…

Toasting the 40th anniversary of punk's origin, the Isle Of Wight Festival has invited a series of acts to perform at next year's event.

Iggy Pop, Adam Ant, The Damned, Buzzcocks, The Godfathers and tribute band The Sex Pissed Dolls are to play the festival, with more acts still to come.

The Isle Of Wight festival runs between June 9th – 12th.
