Clash Announces Month-Long KOKO Takeover In May

Belly Squad, Sampa The Great and Fredwave are all billed...

We’re hyped to announce that Clash will be taking over KOKO every Friday of next month. In collaboration with Burst, we’re hitting the iconic former theatre in Camden for a string of four parties, handpicking some of our favourite acts of the minute to hit the stage.

Here’s who we’ve got billed…

Friday 5th May – Belly Squad / Faze Miyake / Tom Lea
Kicking off the takeover are rising trio Belly Squad, firm favourites of ours at Clash. The group connecting joyous Afrobeats with grime and road rap, responsible for gloriously unsubtle hit ‘Banana’, feature in the latest issue of the magazine. They’ll be joined by Rinse resident and bass luminary Faze Miyake, as well as Local Action bossman Tom Lea.

Friday 12th May – Elderbrook / Jafunk / Daniel Ness
Alexander Kotz AKA Elderbrook will be bringing his brand of minimal, melodic electronica to our second date in the series. His electric live set comes highly recommended, and he’ll be accompanied by disco-house upstart Jafunk and London based prodigal talent Daniel Ness for maximum dancefloor heat.

Friday 19th May – Sampa The Great / Fredwave / Warren Xclnce
We’re thrilled to welcome Sampa The Great to one of our headline slots — the Zambian-born, Botswana-raised and Sydney-residing MC has turned heads with her fusion of tight rhymes and instrumental hip-hop. She’ll be performing alongside Wood Green youngblood Fredwave, who’s positioned himself as one of the UK’s next great talents, and Warren Xclnce, purveyor of soulful hip-hop and electronica.

Friday 26th May – Seramic (live) / Warren Xclnce / BURST DJs
For our fourth and final date, we're programming mysterious London electro-soul artist Seramic, who'll be performing an extra special live set. He'll be backed up by Warren Xclnce once more, with some expert soulful hip-hop sounds to complement his vibe.
