New gig series kicks off

The first of six intimate nights of music that is the Merc Live series, in association with Clash and Tuborg (find out more about Merc Live HERE), kicked off in spectacular fashion at the Gibson Guitar Studio in London last Thursday with Scottish rockers The View and support from Mancunian four-piece Where’s Strutter.

Arriving on stage to the traditional chants of “The View are on fire!” from the delighted audience of just 150 people, they open with ‘Wasted Little DJ’s’ from their 2007 chart topping LP 'Hats Off To The Buskers'. The exclusive and inspiring setting for this free gig is a fan's dream. The View appear equally as inspired as they enthusiastically banter with the crowd, clearly pleased to be playing this special show.

The energetic 12 song set featured no less than seven fantastic songs from just released LP 'Bread And Circuses' including ‘Grace’, ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Underneath The Lights’. They also manage to squeeze in a few fan favourites including ‘5 Rebbecca’s’ and ‘Superstar Tradesman’. These spark a collective sing-along that erupts through out the room.
