The Bishops

Another month, another tip-top collection of sights, sounds and marvels to delight your eyes and ears. Yes, Clash Club took place over the last weekend, and with it, The Bishops, The Kissaway Trail and Radar verily rocked the house…

While across town thousands of people got their bums damp and emptied their wallets on over-priced burgers and watered down beer in plastic cups at the dreary inner-city huddle that is Wireless, the more discerning of the capital’s music lovers headed up to The Luminaire in Kilburn to catch this month’s triumvirate of skill courtesy of Clash Magazine.

First up was the ska-tinged sound of Radar, bravely kicking off proceedings with their Stella-doused dub pop, hypnotising all present with their tripping basslines and casting a spell over their latest fans.

Next up, the fabulous Danish quintet The Kissaway Trail. The band only just made it to Clash Club after their van broke down returning from the Leeds leg of Wireless, which they duly stormed.

"...transported all present to the sweat and grime of a Cavern Club average weekender"

Soaring pop hooks, five voices building up into an impenetrable wall of sound, and one contagious melody after another - The Kissaway Trail are a delight to savour on stage and off. Keep your eyes on these great Danes - check out Issue 20 of Clash for their inclusion on our Ones To Watch CD (and subsequent interview), plus Issue 21 for their fashion shoot…

Last but by no means least, headliners The Bishops came besuitted on stage to bring the night to a crashing finale.

The brothers-and-pal trio blasted through their glorious 60s beatfreak canon and transported all present to the sweat and grime of a Cavern Club average weekender, only sans Cuban heels…
