Despite only releasing two albums before frontman Ian Curtis' tragic suicide in 1980, Joy Division have risen to become one of the most highly praised and iconic bands in British music. Emerging from a desolate post-industrial Manchester the band were extremely innovative, and together with producer Martin Hannett they created an almost entirely new sound.
