Opening Lines
Nick's feature made me think of anecdote my English teacher once told about James Joyce - how he spent a week labouring over the order of words for the end sentence of one his chapters in Ulysses. A week over like 10 words. Now, thats productivity for you. And can i remember what sentence it is....? Naw, of course not.
here are some of my favourites
"Jesus died for somebody sins but not mine" - Gloria, Patti Smith
"I wanna die just like Jesus Christ" - Reverence, JMAC
"In the time of chimpanzees, I was a monkey", Loser, Beck (that's kinda everything you need to know bout Beck in one line)
"i've been a bad, bad girl" criminal, Fiona Apple
"kick out the jams motherfuckers" uh-uh
"it was twenty years ago today"
and there's plenty more......
