Nu Wop

Everybody loves inventing new musical genres so here's mine: Nu Wop! Its the reincarnated spirits of the original doo-wop groups, its the hi tech kids of the noughties looking back to 50s diners, its the sound of iPods being smashed and dansettes being purchased...

Scene leaders include Vincent Vincent & The Villains, arch enemies The Rumble Strips, the girl glamour of The Pipettes and the lo-fi glory of The Wave Pictures. Mix in trailblazers such Jonathon Richman (in fact the bulk of the Beserkley label), American Graffiti, (some) Billy Childish, (a bit more) Holly Golightly, the pure and innocent heart of Jack White and a thousand others.

Anyone think of any other bands we can lump into this entirely ficticious genre??
