Essential dancefloor tunes....
I just got forced to make up a playlist for a friend DJing to lazy to make their own :) and it got me thinking what would be your, say ten, essential songs you would play if you were DJ for a night......
Aside from the fact, its impossible to choose ten, here's mine:
David Bowie - Queen Bitch
Talking Heads - Psycho Killer
Justice - D.A.N.C.E
Blondie - Atomic
The Kinks - Lola
NERD - She Wants To Move
The Poets - Baby Dont Do It
The Doors - Been Down So Long
Pulp - Common People
Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
The Damned - Jet Boy Jet Girl
The Strokes - Last Nite
yeah, yeah i'm quite aware thats more than ten - but its pretty good from about 150.....

Chooooon!!!
Never DJ'd meself but the following will make my hips sway in a frankly ludicrous manner:
New Order - Blue Monday
Elmore James - Rollin and Tumblin (I have yet to hear this played in a club)
Daft Punk - Robot Rock
The Just Brothers - Sliced Tomatoes
John Holt - Ali Baba (quality rocksteady)
LCD Soundsystem - Daft Punk Is Playing At My House
Klaxons - Its Not Over Yet
Velvet Underground - I'm Waiting For My Man
The Rapture - Get Myself Into It
Jimmy McGriff - All About my Girl
That list is by no means authoritive and the wonders of mixed fruit Kopparberg will make me dance to basically anything. Even silence.
