The Wickerman Festival

For anyone who has seen the film that inspires this Festival's moniker will testify; it's all a bit odd, but ultimately pretty cool. And so it is with the Wickerman Festival. Surrounded by rolling hills and Hamlets the area may be, but for one weekend a year this rural outpost becomes flooded with music fans and families

At midnight Saturday a huge Wickerman is set alight, ceremonial burning style with accompanying fireworks, followed by dancing till 5.00 am at various locations on site. Expect to see a lot of new Scottish bands on the bill in the Solus Emerging Talent Tent and a varied line up of folk, dance, reggae and just general mayhem. An unusual, unforgettable festival.
