The Glade
Fiercely Independant Electronica Festival
Why should I go? A new location means that the music can be cranked up throughout the weekend until midnight Sunday.
Any interesting titbits of information?
The Glade festival originally was the dance area at Glastonbury, breaking away in 2004 to become a festival in its own right.
Building on its Glastonbury roots, Glade has been creating a brand based on non-stop dancing to some of the world's biggest DJs and producers. This year they have a new home which means the problems of the past regarding sound pollution, should be behind them - they promise the event will be louder than ever. The organisers have also secured a UK exclusive by booking Underworld to headline the main stage.
This year the inclusion of different themed "music villages" will help give the festival areas each a uniquely exciting personality. Different styles will be thrown into the mix with the Avalon Field becoming a psychedelic festival within a festival. This will be good news for those who want to take time out from the main festivities. The usual stalls and food outlets will be available throughout the event to keep the energy levels up and the dizzies at bay.
