Clapham Common, London UK

Where and when? Clapham Common, London - 30th August.

Why should I go? No camping, no mud, no fuss - and all before the last tube.

Any interesting titbits of information? Get Loaded is well known for staging great comeback gigs, including The Happy Mondays and this year’s headliners, Orbital.

If spending four days in a muddy field, gagging at vile toilets and wondering if your tent’s been nicked while you suffered The View isn’t your bag, Get Loaded could be just the ticket for you.

The one-day event has all the good bits of a more traditional festival without the stuff that puts you off. It gives you four stages, loads of great bands and DJs, amenities that don’t resemble a medieval open sewer and, best of all, the chance to catch all the action and then go to sleep in your own bed. Assuming, of course, that you live in London.

The line-up has been eclectic in previous years, bringing together the best of the indie and dance mainstream, and throwing in a few underground curveballs along the way. This year sees Orbital headline the day as they return to take their seat at electronica’s top table.

With a relatively small capacity and dirt-cheap tickets, Get Loaded is almost a micro-festival. Sure, it’s probably not going to be the first choice of day out for anyone living outside London’s Zone 6, but if you live in or near the capital, and don’t fancy committing to a weekend’s camping, this is for you.

Ticket price: £35

Accommodation: It’s a one-day event, so no camping.

Capacity: 20,000

Stages: Four stages, names TBA.

Travel: Just make your way in to London then choose from a range of tubes, buses and overground trains. Clapham is in Zone 2.
