Why should I go? A homegrown festival in the Highlands, and for a five-year-old event, pretty well developed.

Any interesting titbits of information? The festival was nominated for a record six awards this year – the most for any Scottish festival.

Belladrum Tartan Heart is a music festival held on the Belladrum Estate near Inverness, in Scotland. It’s normally held at the start of August. Founded in 2004, the festival has rapidly grown in popularity. The festival is well known for its wide ranging musical scope, as well as its family friendly atmosphere, with a large dedicated family camp-site, as well as free entry for children under the age of 12. Previous acts include Embrace, The Automatic, The Proclaimers, Amy Macdonald, Kate Nash, James, The Magic Numbers, The Pigeon Detectives, The Hoosiers and many more. As well as the main stages, there are a wide range of stalls and fringe acts, including one man bands, alternative therapy tents, barbers, yoga and dance tuition, not to mention the Miniscule of Sound - the world’s smallest nightclub.

All that and much, much more including street theatre, children’s entertainment, stalls, food and drink, alternative therapy in the Hielan’ Fields, dance and live music coming together for what promises to be an interesting and diverse family friendly festival.

Camping: The Festival provides ample camping space throughout the site which adds to the uniqueness of the event. Your ticket price includes access to the camping fields.

Travel: Just outside of Inverness, Belladrum is well serviced by the railway network. Trains run daily to and from London Kings Cross and the night sleeper runs to and from London Euston (except on Saturday nights). Day train services are operated by First Group and can be booked online.
