An original reggae sound - based in Brighton? It really could happen...
Mike Pelanconi is an experienced studio head, someone who has worked at the very top of the music industry. Returning to his first love, the soundsmith adopted the name Prince Fatty and began stockpiling some serious reggae riddims in a true Jamaica style.
Working with countless guest artists, Prince Fatty has become a cult hero. Blasting out bass vibrations from his Brighton studio, the producer can occasionally be tempted away from the South coast with the promise of a special DJ set with his trusty Soundsystem faithful.
On April 12th, Prince Fatty (plus guests) are set to take control of the Bedroom Bar in London. A Shoreditch hang out, it's clientele are set to experience some serious sub-low action courtesy of Prince Fatty, The Skints, Lazy Habits, Colo and a live set from Horseman.
As a special announcement, ClashMusic can reveal that Hollie Cook is set to make a live appearance on the night. A frequent collaborator with Prince Fatty, the London based artist is sure to add something soulful to the Soundsystem skank.
Ahead of the event, Prince Fatty has pieced together a one off hip hop mix for ClashMusic. Fusing Golden Age beats with a Jamaican flavour, this is something special direct from the producer's Brighton studio.
