Premiere: King Tuff – ‘Black Moon Spell’

Listen to it now...

Rock 'n' roll is supposed to be a fantasy, a place to re-invent yourself on a stage dripping with beer and sawdust.

King Tuff isn't a real king, not really. An alter ego for Kyle Thomas, it's a name which has become synonymous with sleazy glam riffs delivered with a garage rock ferocity.

A cult name, 2008's 'Was Dead' studio album on house of fuzz Burger Records saw King Tuff leap into the public gaze. An enfant terrible of debauched American rock, the LP won the Vermont native a deal with Sub Pop before sweeping Jack White from the top of the Billboard Heatseekers chart with his 2012 self-titled effort.

Heading straight back into the studio with a mission to freak the fuck out, what emerges is sheer, primordial garage rock ooze. Unrelenting from the off, 'Black Moon Spell' is visceral rock 'n' roll, all blood, sweat, tears and outrageous riffs.

Out on September 22nd, UK fans can tune in via Clash. Check out 'Black Moon Spell' below.
