Murky, nocturnal, electronic balladry - that's Jamie Isaac.
The South London native specialises in twilight songwriting, in production which reeks of the wee, small hours, when the mind begins to play tricks and ears begin to tire.
Rapidly developing an utterly unique voice, Jamie Isaac first caught our attention last year. In a Next Wave piece Clash writer Joe Zadeh praised the singer's "talent to paint whole panoramic atmospheres that throb with a calm chaos."
New EP 'Blue Break' is released on Monday (March 24th), and it represents another stunning step forwards from the Croydon native.
A four track document, the EP has the rhythmic flexibility of jazz and the visceral directness of soundsystem culture.
'Mother’s Love Don’t Stretch' is a minimalist piano-led ode, while 'She Dried' is a gorgeous, heart felt love song which finds Jamie Isaac wearing his heart on his sleeve.
A remarkably varied yet compact document, 'Blue Break' should mark the arrival of a major new talent.
