Out Now: Clash Meets Future

Atlanta rapper graces the cover of Clash…

Issue 94 of Clash magazine is another gift from us to you. A gift that you pay for, but really, you’re getting an awful lot more out of this than your garden-variety music magazine has to offer. Well, we like to think so. And this is what’s inside…

Our cover star, Future is the latest in a lineage of eccentric Southern hip-hop artists dating back to the legendary Dungeon Family. The past few years have seen him rise to fame with tracks that blur the lines between melodic rap and gargling, Auto-Tuned song.

Emerging in 2011 with his teeth-gritted dedication to Scarface’s anti-hero ‘Tony Montana’, and YC’s club anthem ‘Racks’, 2013 saw Future balancing duets with R. Kelly and Miley Cyrus with show-stealing performances on club bangers like Ace Hood’s ‘Bugatti’ and Rocko’s ‘U.O.E.N.O.’. The expanding diversity of his music allows him to continually appeal to new audiences as he moves through his career.

Meet the man himself in this month’s exclusive interview feature.

Want more rap royalty? How about Nas celebrating 20 years of his classic debut, ‘Illmatic’? We got it – ‘it’ being a full interview with the hugely influential New Yorker. Before diving into our feature, return to ‘Illmatic’ through our online Spotlight piece, here.

Filling in the main musical section of issue 94 are Eyedress, Animal Collective’s Avey Tare and Chet Faker, each in conversation. We’ve also got Sean Lennon personality clashing with Albert Hammond, Jr; Blondie’s Rock And Rules; and a Spotlight on Soul II Soul’s ‘Club Classics Vol. One’. Oh, and we’ve found room for Mr Scruff and The Invisible, too.

In Clash’s Film section, there’s in-depth interviews with Noah star Ray Winstone and rising British actress Antonia Thomas. Over in Fashion, there are spreads that get groovy one moment and inked the next – you’ll see what we mean. Featured designers include Dior Homme, Kenzo, Ashish, Meadham Kirchhoff and Burberry. Only the best.
