60s soul, garage rock and other oddities...
Miles Kane

Miles Kane has never been one to hide his influences.

A man of immaculate taste, the Scouse songbird's record collection is peppered with golden classics and rare gems. Using the past as a springboard, as a base to work from Miles Kane is able to sift through the parts which genuinely inspire him and insert that passion into his own music.

Currently putting the finishing touches to his second album, Miles Kane is due to release his new single 'Give Up' on February 24th. Showcasing a heavier side to his music, the track is something of a collaborative effort - 'Give Up' was co-written with Kid Harpoon and produced by Ian Broudie.

Ahead of the release. we asked Miles Kane to leaf through his record collection and pull out a few gems.

The Easybeats- River Deep, Mountain High
They do a great version on this song, the band have great energy and passion. I love the ripping crying out vocal, always makes me want dance.

Garnet Mimms – As Long As I Have You
This is a classic song, lyrics are simple but really connect with you. Backing vocals are great!

Captain Beefheart – Zig-Zag Wanderer
It's all about the bass in this track. blows my mind. It's just ripping out the speakers, turn it up take a walk with it on headphones and you'll never walk the same again.

Bonniwell Music Machine – Talk Talk
An intense pop tune with great fuzzy guitar and a belting drumbeat. I love the intensity of the “aaah’s” and “alrights”.

Luv Machine – Everything
A lost treasure. Great band, a three piece at its best. Cool, fat, guitars. If this was out now people would love it!
